Grotbags was quite amazed, she had never actually been this close to a steam engine and with grandad available to answer all her questions, she had great fun finding out about her ancestors.
There was even time to sit down and wait for another train to take us to a different part of the site.
The musuem houses a collection of locomotives, wagons and lots of various old signs. To the rear of the museum is a workshop where engines are restored although this is not accessible.
Of course Grotbags was more than happy to explore off the beaten track and found numerous items of interest. There is also a play area, model railway, cafe and even an old tin church, so lots to do.
We had a really lovely day and it was so much fun sharing it with my parents and of course Grotbags can now say she has been on a steam train.
Looks like fun! We love a train filled day. #CountryKids
