Our first visit was to my favourite, the Elephants. They are so amazing and graceful and there are two babies which I adored. The Asian elephants are at risk in the wild and Chester Zoo have set up a conservation programme to help protect these beautiful animals.
Chester Zoo has over 7,000 varieties of wild animals to see all set in beautiful grounds. There is so much to see and do from the beautiful butterflies to the elegant giraffes.
Grotbags loved spending the day with her friend and it was great for her to have the company of another child instead of pestering us all day! We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant comprising of pizza and pasta (which made a change from burgers and chips, although these were also available) and the price wasn't too expensive, I think it cost about £25 for a meal for four and that was including drinks. There were also plenty of toilets available which were clean and well maintained.
We spent around 6 hours walking around and I still don't think we saw everything, not to say I had weary legs by the time we said goodbye to the animals. We had an amazing day as you can see from the photographs, there are so many things to see and do and I would highly recommend it.
We were sent the tickets free of charge for entry to the Zoo but the opinion is my own.
Sounds like you had a lovely day, we really enjoyed it when we went to Chester Zoo a couple of years ago xx
