I am currently in one if those manic modes where I am so happy one minute and depressed the next. I think maybe I have far too much on my mind. I start my new job soon and Grotbags starts her new school and I still need to arrange childcare as she doesn't start back until the 9th September.
I have been married 9 years (how did that happen) and sometimes I long for the days when I only had myself to think about, but I married for better or worse and I often find myself sitting out storms. Anyway to celebrate my mood swings I am running a giveaway to cheer somebody up and make their day.

ReplyDeleteTell them why I appreciate them. I recently read an article that said everyone wants to feel appreciated so I've been trying to do that lately :)
ReplyDeleteI always try to put a spin on a bad situation, often just listening cheers someone up.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the situation really. Sometimes a hug is all that is needed, or a natter. Sometimes adding a glass or 2 of wine into the equation can work wonders, or maybe watch a comedy, some retail therapy or go out for a drink. :)
ReplyDeleteDepends on the person. If it's a friend, I'll would throw them a Kleenex. If it's a family member, I'll inquire as to what is wrong.
ReplyDeleteI'd invite them on a nice long walk with me, as I find that always clears my head. And if that didn't work, I'd go round with a box of chocolates and long chat. Good luck with your new job.
ReplyDeleteI always find that a nice bunch of flowers work! People hardly ever get flowers given to them unless it's a special occasion, and a little token like that really makes a difference.
