Christmas Stockings from Hawkin's Bazaar

7 November 2017

For the last few years I have created Gee a Christmas Eve basket containing lots of lovely little bits to enjoy in the run up to the big day. I think I prefer Christmas Eve to the big day itself as we usually spend lots of time baking and preparing for the big day, not only is it lots of fun to involve Gee, it gets us both in the Christmas spirit.

This year I am looking to do something along the similar lines and when Hawkin's Bazaar asked me to take a look at their Christmas Stockings I thought this would be a great opportunity to consider other items which are already prepared, after all this could save me lots of time sourcing those little bits to include.

What could be nicer than a Christmas Stocking to unwrap whilst I am rushing around finishing those last-minute Christmas preparations?

There are Christmas Stockings to suit any age group - from men and women, to boys or girls aged 3+, 8+ and 14+. I opted for the Christmas Stocking for girls 14 plus as although Gee is nearly 13, I though the younger age group may not be as suitable. The red stocking came well wrapped with adequate protection and full of lots of little presents including:
  • Glitter Tattoos - great for decorating their new diaries or journals
  • Funky socks - decorated like sneakers
  • A clockwork Thunderbirds car to make - the car slots together and actually works (although not sure why it is in the girl's stocking)
  • A magic growing crystal rabbit - Gee loves anything like this, she will love to watch it grow
  • purse - a girl can never have enough purses and I love the candy stripe design
  • secret savings money box
  • butterfly recipe mug - what a marvellous idea
  • washi tape - something else to adorn the new journal or diary
  • paper chains to make - great for decorating her bedroom
  • decorate your own butterfly - this will fit perfectly in the cactus plant pot which she bought herself
  • ice cream lip gloss - a must have for cold winter mornings
  • green squashy monster - very tactile if your son or daughter loves messing around with slime

As you can see there are lots of items to keep Gee occupied throughout Christmas Eve. The stockings are available from Hawkin's Bazaar priced £25.

This is a collaborative post.
