Back to School Essentials

30 August 2017

It doesn't seem long since the kids were breaking up from school and now we are getting ready to send them back.  I love the summer holidays and am always a little disappointed to fall back in to the school routines. Life seems so much more rushed and I will miss the laid back days of the holidays.

Part of the fun of the new school year is choosing new stationary and accessories and Gee has had lots of input this year into what she would like. Turning 12 years has turned her in to a proper diva but with the turmoil she has experienced this last year I felt it was good for her to have some special things.

Smiggle is every girls' dream, glittery, sparkly pencil cases, fluffy notebooks, scented pens and perfect wallets which are great for storing bus passes.  Gee immediately fell in love with the gorgeous blue glittery, scented hard back pencil case decorated with cupcakes, it has plenty of room to store all her pens, pencils and other drawing items. Her special love is for the coloured inkball pens which take pride of place in the pencil case.  All the back to school range is available in stores now and they have plenty of special offers available to save money.

To round the stationary part of this post off we have picked up lots of Bic products, all within an affordable price range. It is great to see lots of new items like the pack of multi colour pens and 4 colour pens and pencils. Gee always uses the Tipp-Ex correctors as she tends to make lots of mistakes, these make her work a lot more presentable.

What girl wouldn't love these cute mini emoji erasers that come in their own little tub, they are priced at £3.39 and are available from Flamingo Gifts.

Gee prefers a packed lunch to school dinners and it can be difficult to find the right container to meet her needs. This gorgeous Nori Cat Kawaii Friends Bento lunch box is the perfect size for her lunch with separate compartments for different items. The lunch box is available from Flamingo Gifts for the amazing price of £4.25.

Gee drinks lots of water, she doesn't like squash or diluted drinks and therefore the Brita Fill and Go Active bottle is perfect.  Freshly filtered water on the go and the good thing is it can be filled up at school and the filter disc will reduce the levels of impurities and chlorine leaving fresh water all day. Available in Lime, Blue, Pink and Green the Brita Fill and Go Active costs around £15 and is available from leading supermarkets and online,

No girl's school bag is complete without a hairbrush and the Tangle Cherub from Tangle Angel is perfect for detangling wet and dry hair. Gee loved the Fab Fuchsia colour and it is just the right size to pop in her school bag.  Priced at £9.95 it is available from Tangle Angel.

I only wish I could still buy her uniform from supermarkets, it was so much cheaper. We now have to visit the one shop that sells her school uniform so do not have the option to purchase things more reasonably priced. Well that is it for another summer, everything is ready, are your children ready for the back to school rush?
