As you are probably aware from my current posts, I am a huge fan of the Great British Bake Off and just love creating recipes inline with the show. This week’s show was all about bread, chocolate bread, plaits and table centrepieces. Bread week is my nemesis and I am currently writing up my chocolate and orange wreath recipe which turned out a lot better than I had hoped, in fact according to my daughter it is delicious. I much prefer baking cakes or preparing savoury products and I am really excited about next week’s challenges, who cannot resist the good old Yorkshire Pudding with an irresistible filling or perhaps concocting a churros delight.
Baking ingredients can be costly and I can easily go to the supermarket and spend £15 when it would be probably be easier to purchase the ready-made product, obviously this would not be as much fun and undoubtedly it would be full of preservatives of some kind.
If you would like to save some money Voucherbox.co.uk are currently completing a price comparison of the best value supermarkets to purchase the ingredients for the signature bake each week call the Great British Save Off. This week’s Star Saver is Morrison’s where you can buy the ingredients for the Chocolate Bread for £6.57, which is a saving of £2.67 on other supermarkets.
I think this is such a fabulous idea, especially as the Great British Bake Off seems to influence so many bakers at home. I hope you all have a happy baking weekend and save some pennies.
