Mini Chocolate Souffles #GBBOBloggers2015

For  Chocolate week on the Great British Bake Off I wanted to try something I had never made but always wanted to try, the good old souffle.  Chocolate Tart sounded delightful but with my pastry disasters I decided to keep clear.  Once again a big thank you to Mummy Mishaps for organising the #GBBOBloggers2015 and this week Lucy will be hosting.

Mini Chocolate Souffles
Ingredients
2oz Cadburys Bourneville
1/2 oz butter
2 egg yolks
4 egg whites
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp cornflour
2 tbsp sugar

  1. Grease the ramekin dishes with butter and sprinkle with ordinary sugar.
  2. Melt the butter and the chocolate in the micowave and leave to cool.
  3. Beat the egg yolks with the vanilla essence for about 1 minute and then add the cornflour, mix until completely combined.
  4. Whisk the egg white with the sugar unti stiff.
  5. Add a little of the egg white to the chocolate mixture to make it easier to fold into the remainder of the egg whites.
  6. Fold the egg yolk mixture into the chocolate mixture carefully.
  7. Fill the ramekin dishes.
  8. Bake at 200 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.

I cannot believe how simple and tasty these were to make.  A big thumbs up from Grotbags who is the fussiest of eaters.  These would be delicious with some vanilla icecream but unfortunately I forgot to buy some.  We will definitely be making these again in the near future.

  11. Ooh they look fabulous - they look much better than the ones the contestants rustled up! My neighbour (a former chef on cruse liners) keeps asking if I've made a souffle yet, and I still haven't! Though I think you may well have persuaded me to try x
