Carsington Water, Streams & Ponies

It has been a really lovely week weather wise and this has allowed us to get outside with Grotbags and enjoy the sights of Derbyshire.  Carsington Water is a great place to explore on bikes with lots of cycle paths and maps are readily available so that you can enjoy it to the full.  Daddy and Grotbags rode the bikes whilst I just sat and watched, it's not fun having a bad back.

Wading through streams in woods is great fun with a new friend.

Grotbags also had a lovely surprise when we acquired her a loan pony, he is a beautiful Dartmoor Blue called Winkey.   She has spent alot of the time at the stables caring for him and getting used to being around him, afterall it is important he becomes accustomed to her as much she is to him.

Finally we attended a Baking Show in Bakewell which had lots of tempting food stalls, baking displays and wasps by the score.  We enjoyed a Jelly Nut cocktail, played old fashioned stall games and rolled in the hay.

I am joining up with Fiona at Coombe Mill for her #countrykids linkie and can't wait to see what everybody else has been doing.

  1. You really did make the most of the weather and packed a lot into your week, it's great to see so much outdoor fun though! Grotbags looks like she's having a great time exploring the river with her new friend and riding bikes with her dad, and that Baking Show sounds like a great way to spend the day. I bet Grotbags is pleased with her loan pony, she really does look like she's taking good care of it. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

  3. I think I'd absolutely love the baking show. I used to drive through Bakewell for a good couple of years and always stop for a pudding :)

    1. You can't beat a pudding lol. The wasps actually spoiled the show for me as I'm terrified of them x
