50th Birthday at the Hilton Hotel at Bracknell

The Hilton at Bracknell may seem a funny place to go for my 50th Birthday night away but it is in close proximity to some great locations.  Windsor, Ascot Racecourse, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all within half an hour which makes it an ideal base for visiting this area and of course Heathrow Airport is nearby too. Prior to our arrival at the hotel I had sent an email requesting dining information in the surrounding area and the lady supplied me with lots of useful guidance.

On arrival at the hotel we checked in and was given our room number together with meal times and information on what was available at the hotel.  There is an indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi and also a well equipped gym (although I used neither of these as it was my birthday).  The reception area and lounge bar were well lit, bright and cheerful, you could enjoy a nice coffee with free wifi which is available in this area also.

Our room was lovely with a cheerful modern decor and furnished to a high standard with TV, work desk and lounge area.  The large bathroom had a stand alone shower, which meant hubbie could chill in the bath whilst I enjoyed the rainfall shower.  Free wifi was also available in our room which is ideal for social media addicts.  The kind folks at the Hilton had also left lots of added extras for my 50th birthday, there was a birthday banner on the bed and a card plus some rather delicious fresh fruit and bottled water.

I love hotel beds especially when they are large and this one was definitely that, it was so comfy, it was great to just lie and unwind before we went out for a birthday meal.  I just have to say that the hotel room was so quiet, none of the usual outside noise from people walking up corridors, this made a pleasant change.  Although we did not eat in the hotel on the night we did have one or two night caps in the lounge and these were most enjoyable, presented with a bowl of nuts.

I don't know about you but I just love hotel breakfasts and this one wasn't for the faint hearted, everything was cooked to perfection which can be quite rare in lots of hotels.  We enjoyed a full english breakfast accompanied by toast, freshly squeezed orange juice and proper coffee which was a fabulous start to the day.  I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, our stay was perfect and we will definitely be visiting again as my daughter would like to go to Legoland.

I have not been paid for this review but thought the information could be useful.
