Barcelo Thalasso Spa - Fuerteventura

We have recently returned home from an amazing two weeks at the Barcelo Thalasso Spa in Fuerteventura. The hotel is situated overlooking the beach at Costa Caleta and is around a 15 minute journey from the airport in Puerto de Rosario, which means after a 4 hour flight you don't have much further to travel once you have landed.
On arrival at the hotel we checked in, although there was quite a queue due to lots of new arrivals, staff worked efficiently to ensure this was done as quickly as possible. We were given a superior room in Block 3 on the 2nd floor and lots of information on the hotel.   Once we had found our room, awaiting on our beds were bathrobes and slippers, with an added bonus of bubbly and chocolates with a little treat of marshmallows for Grotbags on the dresser.  Toiletries were also provided including toothbrushes, toothpaste, cotton buds, combs, razor and shaving cream, sewing kit and shower gel, bath foam and body lotion. Everything we could have hoped for was in the room waiting for us.

The room itself was quite large with a separate vanity area to the bathroom which we found ideal, especially as it took us girls a lot longer to get ready, which meant we could shower first and do our hair (hairdryer provided) and make up whilst the other half wallowed in the bath.  The bed was huge and so comfortable, in fact I think it is the first time I have been away and actually slept properly.  Grotbag's bed was a sofa bed and the only problem she had sleeping was from her dad snoring.  A TV is provided with some english channels, Grotbags was well impressed that she could chill on the bed after a busy day and actually watch cartoons and understand them.  Also provided was tea, coffee, sugar and a kettle which was much appreciated by me as I could have my early morning cuppa sat on the balcony enjoying the amazing view of the mountains and sea.
We stayed on a half board basis and ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel.  The restaurant was clean and bright with a variety of food to cater for even the fussiest of diners.  We loved the fresh smoothies at breakfast, you could choose from orange, kiwi, red berries or banana and they were all delicious.  Grotbags loved the children's buffet but also enjoyed the other food that was available.  As a family it was great to sit down for a meal together, this doesn't happen very often in our house due to hubbie working away so the opportunity to eat great food together was ideal.

Grotbags favourite part of the holiday was the amazing Mini Club, the staff work tirelessly to entertain the children, offering them a wide range of activities on a daily basis.  The Mini Club is one of the best I have ever seen and I would like to especially thank Jade and Luanne for their hard work, Grotbags didn't want to be with us a lot of the time, which meant we could enjoy a couple of hours adult time relaxing around the pool with our books.
There is a Spa available but I cannot comment on this as we were to busy enjoying ourselves and time flew by, may be next time we come we can experience this. Evening entertainment was provided by the entertainment team who worked so hard to make sure that everybody had a good time, they produced shows every night and there were lots of laughs along the way.  Please note when you ask for a mixer drink here they do not come as shots like we are use too, I had a Tia Maria and Coke and the Tia Maria more or less filled the glass.

Would we return to the Barcelo Thalasso Spa?  Definitely yes, I cannot wait, the staff are so polite and couldn't help you more if they tried.

These are opinions and we have not been paid for this post.
