Meal Time Planning with My Little Chef

Leading such busy lives it is really important to plan our weekly meals, not only does this save time when I arrive home from work but it also allows me to prepare healthy, balanced nutritional meals throughout the week. During the summer holidays Grotbags stayed time with her nan whilst I have been working and therefore all meal planning went out of the window. Back to school meant getting back into the swing of things with meals. Whilst I cook quite a few meals in advance at the weekend and freeze them for simplicity there are times in our week when requests come in for fish fingers or chicken dippers along with potato waffles.

Grotbags loves cooking, whether its making cakes or cooking a simple pasta meal (she can make the most fabulous cheese sauce, unlike mine which always ends up lumpy) she loves to be involved. After being a picky eater for most of her early years I now have a child who will try almost anything and I know this is because she helps to prepare the food and table.

One of Grotbags favourite dishes which she can almost prepare on her own now is Pitta Fish Finger sandwiches, filled with scrummy own grown cherry tomatoes, lettuce, fish fingers and lashings of salad cream. What more could a girl want.
