Our Visit to Chester Zoo

As a family we don't seem to get chance to spend as much quality time together as we would like due to the pressures of work.  On Monday we had a family day out to Chester Zoo thanks to the lovely people at SuperBreak.   We were able to fast track the queues of people and head straight in to the Zoo with the easy to print tickets we were sent, enabling us to enjoy our day and even better the good old British weather was kind to us and we had lots of spring sunshine.

Our first visit was to my favourite, the Elephants.  They are so amazing and graceful and there are two babies which I adored.  The Asian elephants are at risk in the wild and Chester Zoo have set up a conservation programme to help protect these beautiful animals.

Chester Zoo has over 7,000 varieties of wild animals to see all set in beautiful grounds.   There is so much to see and do from the beautiful butterflies to the elegant giraffes.

Grotbags loved spending the day with her friend and it was great for her to have the company of another child instead of pestering us all day!  We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant comprising of pizza and pasta (which made a change from burgers and chips, although these were also available) and the price wasn't too expensive, I think it cost about £25 for a meal for four and that was including drinks.  There were also plenty of toilets available which were clean and well maintained.
Grotbags favourite memory of the day was seeing the giraffes and the baby rhino.  In her words "thank you SuperBreak for letting me have a lovely day with my mummy and daddy".

We spent around 6 hours walking around and I still don't think we saw everything, not to say I had weary legs by the time we said goodbye to the animals.  We had an amazing day as you can see from the photographs, there are so many things to see and do and I would highly recommend it.

We were sent the tickets free of charge for entry to the Zoo but the opinion is my own.
