Holiday Planning

Its coming to that time of the year when nights start drawing in and I dread the winter months. I start getting itchy fingers trawling the internet for a low cost winter holiday, something to look forward too and to get me through the cold, dark wintery days.

When planning a holiday I take a lot of things into consideration, one being the school holidays, I hate that we are limited to travel around these periods and try and not let it interfere with our plans and if it overlaps by a few days then sobeit, although my attitude towards this may change as Grotbags gets older.  I also like to find out about the Resorts before I go, there are so many things to take into consideration eg the climate, travelling, food and are they child friendly.  Grotbags loves the kids clubs and to be honest we never used to take her to these as we felt that it was nice for us to spend time together as a family, but as she has got older she loves to play and dance with the other kids.

Once in resort we love to explore and find the hidden treasures of the place we are visiting, yes I like to have a few relaxing days but to us it is great to experience the cultures of the places we visit.  That is why I like to get away in winter, the climate is usually alot milder and Grotbags can tolerate the heat more without having to be next to the pool all day to cool down which means we can explore to our hearts content.

What tips do you have for holidays? and do you crave some winter warmth?
